About Me

Hello,

My name is Harold and I would like for you to take a casual glimpse into my world of photography.  I love holding that camera in my hands a stopping time in an instant with the squeeze of the shutter.

I began this journey little over three years ago when my wife presented me with a camera as our wedding gift exchange.  I had the opportunity to use it extensively as we sailed the Western Caribbean on our honeymoon.  I started out just taking random shots with my new Nikon Coolpix 4300 and noticed that they really looked good.  The more I shot, the more I experimented and tried new things.

When  we returned back to solid ground I uploaded every picture I had onto my computer and cropped a few and that’s was about it as far as post processing was concerned.  At that time I did not know what that meant and surely did not have any idea about Photoshop, curves, levels, or anything else even remotely associated with them.

As I perused the photos I noticed that some of them were really, really good, especially the beach scenes in Barbados and Aruba.  Even today they are still making money as stock photography.

From the Nikon 4300 I went to the Nikon N75 just to get a feel of aperture, DOF and the like.  I soon graduated to the Nikon D70 and that’s when the weddings began to happen for me.  After moving to the East coast wedding jobs seemed to pop steadily which paved the way for me to purchase the Nikon D200…sweet.

I do portraits, weddings, scenic, and sports photography with an emphasis on weddings.  There is just something about the moment.  I get so wrapped up into the flavor of the wedding.  Stopping that moment forever in time.  A moment we will never see again.

I felt I needed a bit more knowledge so I started the online course “New York Institute of Photography” from which I have graduated.  I have used my press pass I recieved from the institute to get into championship football games, up close and personal to photograph the former President of the United States, Bill Clinton, and Presidential hopeful Barak Obama.

Please look at some of my work posted here and leave a comment bout the pictures.  You can also see some of my work or contact me by visiting www.finetouchstudios.com

Thanks for stopping by my site.
